If there is one good thing that came out of 2020, it was Fountain Square’s newest outdoor venue – HI-FI Annex. “The Annex” was created as a quick pivot for HI-FI to continue shows in a safe, outdoor setting while under Covid-19 restrictions indoors. The venue encompasses the entire back parking lot of the Murphy Arts Building in Fountain Square.
Last year, the HI-FI Annex safely hosted 42 shows at the height of the pandemic. With safety and security as a top priority, fans flocked to the venue for a much needed taste of live music. The Annex operated with a limited capacity of 250 for the duration of the Summer but was able to attract profile performances from Lost Dog Street Band, Andy Frasco, Arlo McKinley, The Wild Feathers, Rod Tuffcurls & the Bench Press, Justin Wells, and more. Additionally, HI-FI Annex served as the stomping grounds for the best of the best local talent Indy has to offer.
The Annex featured a repurposed 40-foot shipping container as the main stage with additional containers lining the grounds. Fans enjoyed picnic table seating, concession stand, local food pop-ups and a 21+ bar area.
HI-FI Annex is planning to reopen in March of 2021, just in time for March Madness. Look for some exciting changes and unique upgrades as we head into our second outdoor concert season at The Annex.
