An Evening with Wilco

For 30 years, Wilco has been a pioneering force in independent music, and they’ve never stopped experimenting. The Chicago-based band, founded by Jeff Tweedy and John Stirratt, boasts quite the stylistically diverse catalog. The best way to describe Wilco's alternative style might be an eclectic combination of country twang, the steady chug of 1960s rock, the undulating sheen of 'the Beach Boys,' the honky-tonk hymns of ’the Band,’ and the melodic symmetries of pop. The sextet has released 13 studio albums and won multiple Grammy Awards. They’ve earned their reputation as a live powerhouse, with NPR saying, “To see Wilco on stage is to hear the best of the best.” Rolling Stone hails Wilco as “one of America’s most consistently interesting band’s” and “America’s foremost rock impressionists.” The band’s newest album, Cousin, was released in 2023, followed by 2024’s Hot Sun Cool Shroud EP.
